Meili Li (Countertenor) studierte Film in Peking und Gesang an der Royal Academy of Music in London. Sein Operngesangsstudium an der Guildhall School of Music and Drama schloss er mit Auszeichnung ab. Li ist Gewinner des Farinelli-Preises beim Gesangswettbewerb des Londoner Händel-Festivals 2016. Am Royal Opera House sang er Spirito in “Orfeo”, an der Birmingham Opera Company Astron in “The Ice Break”, an der Ungarischen Staatsoper Oberon in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, bei den Londoner Händelfestspielen Marco Fabio in “Lucio Papirio”, beim Beijing Music Festival die Titelrolle in “Orfeo”, beim Glyndebourne Festival Cover Linceo in “Hipermestra” und die Titelrolle in Händels “Giustino” am Theater an der Wien. In der Spielzeit 2020/21 war Meili Li als Ruggiero in Händels “Alcina” an der Hamburger Kammeroper und als Alcasto in “Argenore” am Theater Münster zu erleben. Am Theater Lübeck sang er die Titelrolle in Händels “Tolomeo”. Am Badischen Staatstheater war er 2020 als Alessandro in der Oper „Tolomeo, re d’Egitto“ zu sehen. Am Stadttheater Gießen wird er den Oberon in „Ein Sommernachstraum“ verkörpern.
