Marcel Casablanca

Marcel Casablanca ist in Barcelona geboren und aufgewachsen, wo er auch seine Tanzausbildung mit einem Studium in zeitgenössischem Tanzes am Konservatorium von Barcelona absolvierte. Danach trat er der jungen Kompanie IT dansa bei. Im Alter von 20 Jahren zog er in die Schweiz, um seine Tanzkarriere fortzusetzen. Von 2015 bis 2022 arbeitete er als Tänzer für folgende Staatstheater: Konzert Theater Bern, Stadttheater Gießen und Mainfrankentheater Würzburg. 2022 zog er nach Berlin, wo er begann, sein Interesse für Choreografie und Trainingsleitung weiterzuentwickeln. Seitdem arbeitete er als Tänzer mit Choreograf*innen wie Tamar Grosz und Felipe Fiscal zusammen. Er choreografierte ein Solo, das für das Solo-Tanztheater Festival Stuttgart (2024) ausgewählt wurde, und arbeitete als Gasttrainer am Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, am Volkstheater Rostock, am Produktionszentrum Stuttgart und an der Tanzplattform Leipzig.
Derzeit studiert Marcel die Feldenkrais-Methode und absolviert einen Bachelor-Studiengang in Sozialwissenschaften.

Marcel Casablanca is born and raised in Barcelona where he started his dance education studying contemporary dance in the conservatory of Barcelona. Afterwards he joined the young company IT dansa. At the age of 20 he moved to Switzerland to pursue his dance career. Between 2015 to 2022 he worked as a dancer for the following state theaters: Konzert Theater Bern, Stadttheater Gießen and Mainfrankentheater Würzburg. 
In 2022 he moved to Berlin, where he has begun to develop his interest in choreography and teaching. In these past years he has worked as a dancer with choreographers such as Tamar Grosz and Felipe Fiscal. He has choreographed a solo selected for Solo-Tanztheater Festival Stuttgart (2024) and worked as a guest trainer in Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, Volkstheater Rostock, Produktionszentrum Stuttgart and Tanzplattform Leipzig.
Marcel is currently studying the Feldenkrais Method as well as pursuing a bachelor's degree in social studies.
