From the 2027/28 season onwards, the dance ensemble at the Stadttheater Gießen will be under the curatorial direction of Caroline Rohmer. Around four productions – including world premieres and repertoire pieces – are created each season in collaboration with guest choreographers. We also collaborate in the theatre’s cross-disciplinary productions with the drama and musical theatre ensembles. With the introduction of a Choreographer in Residency each season, the ensemble will have the opportunity to develop sustained artistic relationships that allow for deeper artistic research and foster mutual growth and a shared choreographic language. This creates a space in which choreographer and ensemble can continuously challenge and inspire each other, take artistic risks and explore new possibilities together, while gradually shaping and strengthening the ensemble's distinctive artistic identity.
Our artistic practice and our team in Gießen thrive on bringing together a diverse range of people and perspectives, and we aim to create space for a plurality of human experiences. We strive for a cooperative, inclusive and open ensemble culture that supports the ideas, needs and interests of its artists. You can find out more about our current work here.
